Golden Stillness

Be still...Stillness reveals the secret of eternity

Lao Tsu

When we lose ourselves in a world of thought, when we lose touch with our inner stillness, we lose touch with our deeper self. We always say silence is golden but perhaps we have been referring to the stillness underneath the noise, to the space from which the noise arises – the stillness of pure awareness, of consciousness itself.

Bottle 40

It follows that our innermost sense of self, who we truly are, is the stillness at the core of our being – the I am that is deeper than our form. The I Am Bottle in Aura-Soma (Bottle 40) is red/gold and speaks of "the positive, profound spiritual level that comes at the point when we find ourselves, the true nature of 'I am', almost like a higher state of being". (Aura-Soma Sourcebook) This bottle could support us to touch our inner space, the unconditioned consciousness from where the true joy of being emanates. The red in the top fraction helps us to ground, to sense the I Am directly – to become conscious of consciousness as our true self

Bottle 83

Using any of the fourteen bottles in Aura-Soma that have gold as a fraction could support us to go beyond the interminable chatter of our mind and to listen to the silence - so awakening to the dimension of stillness within. Wisdom operates silently; the stillness is where our creativity resides. No wonder Bottle 83, turquoise/gold (one of the keywords for turquoise is 'creativity') is called Open Sesame and represents the Return Journey of Hierophant, the symbol of our inner authority. Mike Booth once wrote that this bottle could bring the insight that 'You are open wide, you are the door and the doorway, the entry and the exit. Each moment is eternal'.

Another way to move naturally from outer form to inner stillness is to become aware of our breath. Becoming acutely aware of the air moving in and out of our body creates space, generates consciousness and takes our attention away from thinking. Breathing into our belly, our golden area, brings us into our body and into the present moment – our body is always present.

Bottle 90

By consciously being present in the golden area of our body, we enliven the ancient wisdom that lies within us. The deep magenta in the base of Bottle 90, The Wisdom Rescue, gold/deep magenta suggests tapping into our eternal source of wisdom. We are re-minded that knowledge we acquire, wisdom we have.

En-lightenment implies that we are able to lighten the leaden load that is the burden of external sound and form: find the spaces between your thoughts, an inner stillness where joy lives. Become your own alchemist.
